ISO 7010

La norma ISO 7010 es una norma técnica de la Organización Internacional de Normalización para símbolos gráficos de peligro en señales de peligro y seguridad , incluidas las que indican salidas de emergencia . Utiliza colores y principios establecidos en la norma ISO 3864 para estos símbolos, y tiene como objetivo proporcionar "información de seguridad que dependa lo menos posible del uso de palabras para lograr su comprensión". ^[1]

La norma se publicó en octubre de 2003, separándose de la ISO 3864:1984 , que establecía estándares de diseño y colores de señalización de seguridad y fusionándose con la ISO 6309:1987, Protección contra incendios - Señales de seguridad para crear una norma única y distinta para los símbolos de seguridad. ^{[2] [3]}

A partir de septiembre de 2022 ^[update], la última versión es la ISO 7010:2019, con 8 modificaciones publicadas. ^[4] Esta revisión canceló y reemplazó la ISO 20712-1:2008, incorporando las señales de seguridad en el agua y las banderas de seguridad en la playa especificadas en ella. ^[5]

La norma ISO 7010 especifica cinco combinaciones de forma y color para distinguir el tipo de información presentada. ^[6]

La ISO registra y enumera los pictogramas recomendados, a los que denomina "señales de seguridad", en su sitio web, ISO.org. La norma ISO proporciona un número de registro para los pictogramas que se han incorporado oficialmente a la norma ISO 7010. En correspondencia con las categorías anteriores, en el lenguaje de la ISO, los números "E" se refieren a Emergencia (señales que muestran una condición segura), los números "F" se refieren a Protección contra incendios, los números "P" se refieren a Acciones prohibidas , los números "M" se refieren a Acciones obligatorias y los números "W" se refieren a Advertencias de peligros. ^[8]

De acuerdo con la norma ISO 3864-1 relacionada, si no existe un símbolo para una situación, la solución recomendada es utilizar el símbolo "general" correspondiente (M001, P001, W001), junto con un mensaje de texto complementario. ^[9]

La norma ISO 7010 establece que en todos los símbolos que incluyan una cruz de primeros auxilios , esta "puede sustituirse por otro elemento adecuado a los requisitos culturales". En países con una población mayoritariamente musulmana , un símbolo adecuado es la media luna .
