Los Navanatha ( sánscrito : नवनाथ ), también escritos como Navnath en lenguas vernáculas, son los nueve santos, maestros o Naths en quienes se basa el Navnath Sampradaya, el linaje de los nueve gurús. [ 1 ] Se les venera tanto colectiva como individualmente, [ 2 ] y pertenecen a la tradición Nath .
Nueve gurús

Nath Sampraday cree que Rishi Dattatreya , una encarnación de la trinidad hindú Brahma , Vishnu y Shiva , fue su primer maestro. [ 3 ] [ 1 ] [ 4 ] Otras tradiciones sostienen que Matsyendranath recibió la iniciación directamente de Shiva , también conocido como Adi Nath. En muchos grupos Nath modernos, la adoración de Gorakshanath y Shiva es primordial. Los nueve maestros, conocidos colectivamente como Navnaths, son considerados representantes de los grandes maestros en esta tradición o parampara . [ 4 ]

Nisargadatta Maharaj
Según Maurice Frydman , traductor de Yo soy eso de Nisargadatta Maharaj , y Saumitra K. Mullarpattan, intérprete principal de Maharaj, "la lista más ampliamente aceptada" [ 5 ] [ 4 ] es la siguiente:
