Mu'min

Mu'min o Mumin ( árabe : مؤمن , romanizado : muʾmin ; femenino: مؤمنة muʾmina ) es un nombre árabe y un término islámico al que se hace referencia con frecuencia en el Corán , que significa "creyente".^[¹^] Al-Mu'minun ( árabe : المؤمنون , al-mu ʼ minūn ; que significa: 'Los creyentes') es la sura 23 ("capítulo") del Corán.

En el Corán

Mu'min designa a una persona que se somete completamente a la voluntad de Dios y tiene la fe firmemente arraigada en su corazón, es decir, un «musulmán fiel». ^{[ 1 ]} También se usa como nombre y uno de los nombres de Dios . ^{[ 1 ]} El término opuesto a iman («fe») es kufr («incredulidad»), y el opuesto a mu'min es kafir («incrédulo»). ^{[ 2 ]}^{[ 3 ]}^{[ 4 ]}

El Corán dice:

¡Oh creyentes! Tened fe en Alá, en Su Mensajero , en el Libro que reveló a Su Mensajero y en las Escrituras que reveló con anterioridad. En verdad, quien niega a Alá, a Sus ángeles , a Sus Libros , a Sus mensajeros y al Último Día , se ha extraviado profundamente.

— Sura An-Nisa 4:136

This verse addresses the believers, exhorting them to believe, implying multiple stages of belief.

There is a difference between the terms Muslim and mu'min. The term mu'min is the preferred term used in the Quran to describe monotheistic believers.
