Espacio profundo 5

Deepspace5 es un supergrupo de hip hop underground formado en 1997 y actualmente compuesto por Beat Rabbi, Manwell?, Freddie Bruno , Listener , Mars ILL (un dúo independiente formado por Manchild y DJ Dust ), Playdough , Sintax.the.Terrific , Sivion y Sev Statik . Deepspace5 también incluyó anteriormente a Illtripp y The Recon. Desde su formación, el colectivo ha vendido más de 100.000 copias de sus grabaciones y ha actuado con KRS-One , Atmosphere y MF Doom , entre otros. ^{[ 1 ]}

Deepspace5 se formó por primera vez en 1997 en una conferencia anual de hip hop cristiano llamada Cru-vention. ^{[ 2 ]} Listener , Sev Statik , Sintax.the.Terrific , Manchild y Recon se conocieron en la conferencia y grabaron un EP . Poco después, DJ Dust y Manchild firmaron con el sello Tooth & Nail , Uprok Records, como un proyecto de dúo llamado Mars ILL , y sugirieron que Uprok lanzara un proyecto de Deepspace5. ^{[ 2 ]} Playdough y Freddie Bruno , quienes en ese momento grababan como un dúo llamado Phonetic Composition, se unieron al grupo en 2000, después de que Playdough se reuniera con DJ Dust y Sintax en Atlanta. Deepspace5 released Bakesale on April 29, 2008, exclusively on its website and SphereOfHipHop.com for CD or digital download, as a fund-raiser for its most recent album, The Future Ain't What It Used to Be, which was released on Mega Royal Records on April 27, 2010.^[4]

The group released "5:55" on October 20, 2017, exclusively on their new official webpage at BandCamp.com ^[5] The 5-song EP was their first album in over seven years.
